I don't know if it was the cold weather, the lack of sunlight or my jam-packed schedule, but January and February were NOT good workout months for me. I made it to the gym regularly, but with little enthusiasm. After about eight weeks of just going through the motions, I was starting to feel the effects. So I made a commitment to add some WORK back to my morning workouts. And what better way to do that than with sprints?!?
After about a week back in the game I'm already feeling a million times better! My energy levels are up and my pants are fitting better. It's a win-win!
Here's the workout I used to get me back in the game. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
A couple of notes. For the sprints, I keep the treadmill running and hop to the sides for rest. Also, the word 'superset' means you perform one 'set' after the other. For example, you'll bench press 15 times, then go right into the bent-over rows. Take a small rest before moving on to the next superset. This workout can be modified to fit your own specific needs. If you're a runner (I am not), you may want to spend more time on the tredmill and, if you're more of a heavy lifter, you may want up the weight and drop the reps.
