Our wedding ceremony took place on our third day in Mexico. Although we were already legally married and there was literally NO pressure regarding the ceremony arrangements, I woke up a ball of nerves and could sense Josh was a nervous wreck too!
We spent the morning by the pool until it was time for my hair appointment. I quickly snuck back to the room, left Josh a wedding day gift, and then caught a golf cart to the spa. While I was getting my hair done (Nelly at the spa was fabulous, by the way!), the boys made their way to one room and the girls made their way to another.
So in Part One of Our Wedding Recap I covered Who, What, When and traveling to the resort. Today let's talk about the resort itself and the first few days leading up to the ceremony.
For the first few days we stayed with our families at the Iberostar Paraiso Maya. This resort is a part of a larger complex with multiple resorts on property. The complex is situated right on the beach between Cancun and Play del Carmen, on the Riviera Maya.
As promised, I've got a full recap of our destination wedding and honeymoon to share!! There is a lot to cover so I'll break it up into a few posts. I'm sharing this for a few reasons:
To give props and recognition to the amazing people and places that made our experience so special.
To offer advice for couples planning their own destination wedding. To my surprise, there weren't many resources available when I started the whole planning process (resources that weren't sponsored by a travel agency/resort)
